From this point on, the Community Sport Network team will no longer be sending out articles.

It was established in August 2013 as a free to access news-line on all things happening in Community Sport. It was set up as a small contribution to the legacy of London 2012 which inspired us all and will live long in our memories.

Nearly five years down the track there are now a number of other respected sporting news offerings online, so we thank you for your readership and support which has extended to over 200 countries, and wish you all well in your ongoing efforts to help create a fitter, healthier sporting nation.

Thanks for being a part of it!

Adrenaline Rush!

Do you fancy trawling through mud pits, jumping the leap of faith and braving the fires of hell?

If you answered yes, then Adrenaline Rush could be for you!

With the rising popularity of events such as ‘tough mudder,’ ‘mudstacle’ and ‘xrunner’, Sports marketing agency, Inmotion Sport and Macmillan Cancer Support have announced the launch of ‘Adrenaline Rush,’ a new series of obstacle races.

John Gladwin, director, Inmotion Sport, said: "We’ve worked with fitness and obstacle experts to design a unique course which includes everything from bungees to flour bombs, and not forgetting Adrenaline Rush’s signature obstacles!”

"I would urge people who love a physical challenge and a great day out to get involved and support a very worthy cause in the process.”

25% of the entry fee and every additional pound raised will go to Macmillan to help in the fight against cancer.

With options of a 5km or 10km course as well as individual and team entries available, Adrenaline rush really is for everyone.

Tough Mudder’s founders Dean and Guy Livingstone says: ‘We live in an increasingly sanitised world where we sit behind computers, we don’t get our hands dirty, and health and safety seems to rule everything. Playing in the mud brings out the inner child in all of us.’

"There is something counter-cultural about it. There are no winners and no losers; it is just about getting through it.”

These challenging obstacle events are getting people motivated and above all excited about being active, with over 2 million men and women entering a Tough Mudder event alone since it started in 2010.

What can be more fun that wading through mud and dodging flour bombs whilst raising money charity?

Why not get involved this summer?

The first Adrenaline Rush event is to take place on Saturday 30th May at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park...
