From this point on, the Community Sport Network team will no longer be sending out articles.

It was established in August 2013 as a free to access news-line on all things happening in Community Sport. It was set up as a small contribution to the legacy of London 2012 which inspired us all and will live long in our memories.

Nearly five years down the track there are now a number of other respected sporting news offerings online, so we thank you for your readership and support which has extended to over 200 countries, and wish you all well in your ongoing efforts to help create a fitter, healthier sporting nation.

Thanks for being a part of it!

BBC Cymru Wales and Sport Wales have begun the search for the brightest sports stars in the country this year through the launch of the Wales Sport Awards 2014.

The event will take place on Monday December 8 at the Sport Wales National Centre in Cardiff with prizes set to include the BBC Wales Sports Personality of the Year.

The event this year comes after the success of the inaugural Wales Sport Awards event in 2013 with BBC Cymru Wales and Sport Wales confirming that they will join forces again for the country’s biggest annual celebration of the very best elite and grassroots sport.

"Our sportsmen and women have set the pace both at home and abroad - culminating in a thrilling and highly successful Commonwealth Games,” said BBC Cymru Wales Director Rhodri Talfan Davies.

"The Wales Sport Awards event is the perfect opportunity for us all to look back on a very special twelve months - and to salute those who have made a real mark.”

Sport Wales Chair Professor Laura McAllister is excited that her organisation will once again collaborate with BBC Cymru Wales to put together the Wales Sport Awards.

"Our partnership with BBC Wales for the first Wales Sport Awards proved to be everything we hoped it would be in terms of promoting sport in Wales and the outstanding individuals within it,” she said.

"Given the success on the elite stage this year - not least for Team Wales at the Commonwealth Games - it is vital that we continue to develop the sporting workforce in Wales.

"Celebrating the commitment and success of our coaches and volunteers at both elite and community levels provides the opportunity to be showcasing the opportunities we have in sport to help people grow and develop.”

The Welsh public now have their chance to nominate people for the grassroots awards.

Nominations are now open and close on Friday, September 26.

The categories open for nomination are:

Young Coach of the Year
Community Coach of the Year
Young Volunteer of the Year
Volunteer of the Year

Lifetime Achievement Award (Community)
