Latest CSN Articles

From this point on, the Community Sport Network team will no longer be sending out articles.

It was established in August 2013 as a free to access news-line on all things happening in Community Sport. It was set up as a small contribution to the legacy of London 2012 which inspired us all and will live long in our memories.

Nearly five years down the track there are now a number of other respected sporting news offerings online, so we thank you for your readership and support which has extended to over 200 countries, and wish you all well in your ongoing efforts to help create a fitter, healthier sporting nation.

Thanks for being a part of it!

Celebrating Sporting Excellence in BME Communities

The British Ethnic Diversity Sports Awards (BEDSA) will take place on the 21st of February at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. The awards will recognise excellence among black and minority ethnic (BME) sports men and women. This is the first year of the annual awards, and the ceremony hopes to contribute to an increase in sports participation in BME communities, inspiring the next generation of sporting talent.
Supported by Sport England and backed by the Minister of Sport, Tourism and Equalities Helen Grant, the award ceremony is expected to be attended by 800 plus guests and nominees. A line up of star studded entertainment and guests will be attending the event in a bid to raise the profile of the event to a global audience.

Helen Grant: I'm delighted to be attending the British Ethnic Diversity Sports Awards. I want to see everyone succeed in and get the benefits from their chosen sport. That is why it is important that we celebrate and inspire Britain's younger generation. I congratulate the organisers for arranging what promises to be a fantastic evening.”

There are a number of awards to be celebrated on the night and the shortlist of finalists for the ten categories went live this week.
