Latest CSN Articles

From this point on, the Community Sport Network team will no longer be sending out articles.

It was established in August 2013 as a free to access news-line on all things happening in Community Sport. It was set up as a small contribution to the legacy of London 2012 which inspired us all and will live long in our memories.

Nearly five years down the track there are now a number of other respected sporting news offerings online, so we thank you for your readership and support which has extended to over 200 countries, and wish you all well in your ongoing efforts to help create a fitter, healthier sporting nation.

Thanks for being a part of it!

Comic Relief supporting Sported

0 0
At Sported we believe that Sport has the power to change young lives working with amazing community sport organisations that are using the power of sport to tackle the root causes of some of society’s biggest problems and giving disadvantaged young people the opportunities, confidence and support to overcome their personal hurdles and succeed in life.

Sported relies on the support of over 280 skilled and experienced volunteers to deliver vital services to these sports groups- enabling them to develop, sustain and grow to the needs and demands of the disadvantaged communities they work within.

Comic Relief is backing Sported with a two year grant of over £245,000. This will enable Sported to support community sport for development organisations further, by working with more volunteers to provide an increased range of services and help for the sector. Support will range from single sessions for instance on grant application or monitoring and evaluation, to longer term mentor support on development and financial planning.

We are now recruiting for exceptional volunteers with a desire to share skills and expertise in a range of areas including; business planning, writing funding applications, finance, marketing, PR, impact measurement, staff and volunteer management. In return, we provide a unique and rewarding volunteer experience with training, personal development opportunities, and support from our Volunteer Services team and our locally based UK Regional and National Managers.
