From this point on, the Community Sport Network team will no longer be sending out articles.

It was established in August 2013 as a free to access news-line on all things happening in Community Sport. It was set up as a small contribution to the legacy of London 2012 which inspired us all and will live long in our memories.

Nearly five years down the track there are now a number of other respected sporting news offerings online, so we thank you for your readership and support which has extended to over 200 countries, and wish you all well in your ongoing efforts to help create a fitter, healthier sporting nation.

Thanks for being a part of it!

DCMS announces a review of key sports agencies

0 0
DCMS is to undertake a review of UK Sport and Sport England as part of standard Government policy to review non-departmental public bodies at least once in every three year cycle. Announced in a written Ministerial Statement laid in Parliament, the exercise is designed to satisfy that the agencies are both needed and are compliant with good corporate governance principles.

This review comes after a recent decision not to create a unified ‘House of Sport’, but to retain them in their respective current forms albeit with a shared reform programme, designed to create more collaborative working with the intention of achieving strategic economic and operational benefits. UK Sport and Sport England have relocated under one roof in the past year.

The review is to be led by Graham Turnock, from the Department of Business Innovation and Skills, and is due for release in July 2015. Key to the review is a consultation process and an online survey with a response date of 21st December 2014.
