From the 18th-22nd May workers across the country are urged to get up from their desks and start getting active during the Healthy Workplace Week, a five-day campaign encouraging local employers to take care of their employees’ health and wellbeing.
With many people spending more than 60% of our waking hours at work, the campaign challenges employers to make it easier for staff to inject activity into and around their working day.
Activities are planned throughout the week including the national #MiddayMile initiative.
The Midday Mile will take place on Wednesday 20th May – in aid of better health and the British Heart Foundation.
A simple concept, walk, cycle, run or swim a mile rather than sitting at your desk with your soggy sandwich! Most of us spend over 6 hours sat down every day and its just not healthy for us, so make a change and join in.
