Latest CSN Articles

From this point on, the Community Sport Network team will no longer be sending out articles.

It was established in August 2013 as a free to access news-line on all things happening in Community Sport. It was set up as a small contribution to the legacy of London 2012 which inspired us all and will live long in our memories.

Nearly five years down the track there are now a number of other respected sporting news offerings online, so we thank you for your readership and support which has extended to over 200 countries, and wish you all well in your ongoing efforts to help create a fitter, healthier sporting nation.

Thanks for being a part of it!

NELTA produces teachers

0 0
Mark Tinker is one of 15 new PE teachers trained by the North East London Teaching Alliance, part of the Beacon Multi Academy Trust.

Here is Mark’s reason for helping others.

Growing up I would never have thought that teaching was the career for me. I was undecided about which career path to choose, so after completing my A-Levels I decided to travel the world. I travelled for over a year and visited many countries. This was a real eye opener for me and put a lot of things in to perspective. Seeing children without the same opportunities that I was blessed with throughout my education made me want to try to contribute in some way to children’s futures. The teacher training course from NELTA has allowed me to pursue this ambition and has led to me securing a full time Physical Education position at a secondary school. The reason I chose Physical Education as the subject I wanted to teach is that I believe it plays a key role in the development of children. It gives children an insight in to the need to develop a healthy and active lifestyle; and also provides children with invaluable transferable skills, such as communication, leadership, dedication and discipline which can be applied and developed throughout their adult working lives. I am looking forward to getting stuck in throughout my first year of being a newly qualified teacher. I want to build relationships with the students which will allow me to impose a positive effect on their lives. I have NELTA to thank for all of my success so far.
