Latest CSN Articles

From this point on, the Community Sport Network team will no longer be sending out articles.

It was established in August 2013 as a free to access news-line on all things happening in Community Sport. It was set up as a small contribution to the legacy of London 2012 which inspired us all and will live long in our memories.

Nearly five years down the track there are now a number of other respected sporting news offerings online, so we thank you for your readership and support which has extended to over 200 countries, and wish you all well in your ongoing efforts to help create a fitter, healthier sporting nation.

Thanks for being a part of it!

Rough Runner: A New Breed of Sports Event

0 0
Rough Runner is a new breed of sports event, merging distance running (anything from 5km up to 10 miles) and obstacles that you’ll have to take on along the way.

But not just the regular, military-style obstacles you’ll see on every other event out there, that do nothing but freeze, burn, lacerate and electrocute you. Instead obstacles are inspired by all those game shows we love – Takeshi’s Castle, Wipeout, Gladiator, Ninja Warrior and more.

So if you’ve ever thought that the Travelator looked like a challenge, the punching wall would be a great laugh, or you just fancy a go on the big balls, then Rough Runner is for you.

The team is made up of Jonathan, Thorfinn and Brian Who have ran a few 10km runs and half marathons over the years, but thought they could do more. A lot more. Growing up on game shows, watching Gladatiors and Krypton Factor in the 90s, and more recently fallen about over the hilarity of Takeshi’s Castle and Total Wipeout. And all the way along, thought to themselves, "I’d love to have a go”.

"We love what we’ve made, and so will you"
