Start to get excited about the Rio Olympic and Paralympic Games this summer by showing your sporting spirit. The perfect way to do this is by joining hundreds of schools taking part in the Get Set for the Spirit of Sport programme.
Get Set for the Spirit of Sport encompasses the Olympic and Paralympic values, enabling young people to make the right decisions on and off the field of play, in turn maximising the enjoyment for everyone involved.
Practical and classroom based activities provide young people with an opportunity to practise making decisions that uphold fair play, respect and friendship in a fun and interactive way. Over 2,000 free resources have already been used by teachers, and you can get involved too by downloading them for free on the Get Set website.
Deputy Headteacher of Albrighton Primary School, Howard Auckland said:
"Get Set for the Spirit of Sport had a positive impact on my pupils. Lessons were fun and engaging, they challenged pupils’ views and understanding. I definitely recommend these lessons!”
Minister for Sport, Tracey Crouch said:
"It's essential our star athletes of tomorrow are educated on the dangers of doping and the value of clean sport. Get Set for the Spirit of Sport is a great way for young people to understand the importance of competing on a level playing field and I would encourage schools across the country to get involved."
