Sports Coach UK: Inclusive coaching, coaching philosophy & International Reach event!
Inclusive Coaching: Including Everyone in Your Session
Sports Coach UK has created a new resource for coaches looking to learn more about how to include everyone in their sessions.
Recent strategies published by the Government and Sport England recognise the need to create a more active nation. Every coach can play their part by pro-actively and confidently welcoming people from many different background and abilities into sessions.
The resource contains information and an online activity to support coaches to think differently about their approach. Access the resource via Sports Coach UK’s website for free.
A Coaching Philosophy: Mai pen rai – don’t worry, don’t stress, be happy
Charlotte Evans is a London-based mental health nurse and personal trainer who founded her enterprise, Sole2Soul – improving physical and mental well-being by combining exercise and mental health expertise – living by the Thai philosophy, ‘mai pen rai’ which translates, albeit roughly, as, ‘don’t worry, don’t stress, be happy’.
Operating in the boroughs of Camden and Islington, Sole2Soul was recently named Sportivate Club of the Year for London and in quick succession, Charlotte was presented with Coach of the Year, at the London Sport Awards.
Charlotte spoke to Sports Coach UK about her achievements. Read her story in full.
International Reach event celebrates women coaches
An international women in coaching event took place in Kensington, London on the 23-24 February.
Run by Reach – Sports Coach UK’s national brand for supporting women in coaching – the ‘Shine: Elite Women Coach Event’ saw 40 elite level coaches from Britain, Sweden and Norway come together to share coaching experiences across cultures and engage in professional development.
Part of the proceedings: 'Coaching Conversations', were live streamed on Reach’s facebook page. Relive the broadcasts and read the full report.
