Latest CSN Articles

From this point on, the Community Sport Network team will no longer be sending out articles.

It was established in August 2013 as a free to access news-line on all things happening in Community Sport. It was set up as a small contribution to the legacy of London 2012 which inspired us all and will live long in our memories.

Nearly five years down the track there are now a number of other respected sporting news offerings online, so we thank you for your readership and support which has extended to over 200 countries, and wish you all well in your ongoing efforts to help create a fitter, healthier sporting nation.

Thanks for being a part of it!

Sports Coach UK: Inclusive coaching, coaching philosophy & International Reach event!

Inclusive Coaching: Including Everyone in Your Session

Sports Coach UK has created a new resource for coaches looking to learn more about how to include everyone in their sessions.

Recent strategies published by the Government and Sport England recognise the need to create a more active nation. Every coach can play their part by pro-actively and confidently welcoming people from many different background and abilities into sessions.

The resource contains information and an online activity to support coaches to think differently about their approach. Access the resource via Sports Coach UK’s website for free.

A Coaching Philosophy: Mai pen rai – don’t worry, don’t stress, be happy

Charlotte Evans is a London-based mental health nurse and personal trainer who founded her enterprise, Sole2Soul – improving physical and mental well-being by combining exercise and mental health expertise – living by the Thai philosophy, ‘mai pen rai’ which translates, albeit roughly, as, ‘don’t worry, don’t stress, be happy’.

Operating in the boroughs of Camden and Islington, Sole2Soul was recently named Sportivate Club of the Year for London and in quick succession, Charlotte was presented with Coach of the Year, at the London Sport Awards.

Charlotte spoke to Sports Coach UK about her achievements. Read her story in full.
