The StreetGames Conference & Awards 2014 is set to get underway at Warwick University in Coventry from April 2-3 where it will provide crucial insight and knowledge into the youth market and determine what the sporting future and doorstep sport looks like for young people.
The two day conference will feature high profile key note speakers including Sport England CEO Jennie Price, Sport Wales Chair Laura McAllister, Sport & Recreation Alliance Chair Andy Reed and of course StreetGames CEO Jane Ashworth – who outlined the importance of the event.
"The StreetGames Conference has taken place annually every year since we first began in 2007 and each year, it has got bigger and better,” Ashworth told Community Sport Network.
"We anticipate that this 2014 Conference will be are best yet and our most important to date in terms of discussing doorstep sport.
"Doorstep sport is research and insight led and we have listened to young people talk about the type of sport they want.
"Delegates at this year’s StreetGames conference will hear about the early learnings from the doorstep sport programme and can test their own practice against these findings.
"The debates on what works and why will be steered by expert practitioners, senior policy makers and politicians.
"The event provides a unique opportunity to hear the opinions of people at all levels delivering sport in disadvantaged communities and also to network with key people.”
In addition to the conference, the awards are designed to be an enjoyable occasion with the opportunity to celebrate the achievements and dedication of the StreetGames network.
