Latest CSN Articles

From this point on, the Community Sport Network team will no longer be sending out articles.

It was established in August 2013 as a free to access news-line on all things happening in Community Sport. It was set up as a small contribution to the legacy of London 2012 which inspired us all and will live long in our memories.

Nearly five years down the track there are now a number of other respected sporting news offerings online, so we thank you for your readership and support which has extended to over 200 countries, and wish you all well in your ongoing efforts to help create a fitter, healthier sporting nation.

Thanks for being a part of it!

The Happiest 5km on the Planet!

0 0
The Color Run™, also known as the Happiest 5k on the Planet, is a unique colour race that celebrates healthiness, happiness, individuality, and giving back to the community.

Less about your 10-minute-mile and more about having the time of your life, The Color Run is a five-kilometre, un-timed race in which thousands of participants are doused from head to toe in different colours at each kilometre.

The fun continues at the finish line with a gigantic "Color Festival,” using more coloured powder to create happiness and lasting memories, not to mention millions of vivid colour combinations making it the best post-5k party on the planet!

With only two rules, the idea is easy to follow:
1.       Wear white at the starting line
2.       Finish plastered in colour

Now the single largest event series on the planet, The Color Run is exploding since their debut event in January of 2012, with 1.5+ million runners in 2013 and over 2 million taking part in 2014.

While The Color Run event is all about fun and positive energy, the 5k also focuses on promoting a healthy lifestyle. Over half of our participants are first-time 5k runners and the event is making headway on the growing national focus of improving health and wellness. We hope that The Color Run event will be able to act as a catalyst for our participants to live an active, healthy lifestyle.

"Color Runners” vary in demographics and reasons for running. With no winners or official times, The Color Run caters to anyone – 2 year olds to 80 year olds, first time runners to professional athletes. Some Color Runners participate as a celebration and capstone of their healthy living accomplishments, while others participate for reasons unique to them. There’s even been 10 marriage proposals! What are you running for?

From the city of London to the beach town of Brighton, there are many colour runs across the UK, so get involved!

Be Healthy. Be Happy. Be You.
